Escape Fishing With ET is now in its 24th year. The longest-running and most popular fishing show by a long cast. Escape with host, former Rugby League Legend “ET” Andrew Ettingshausen as he travels Australia and the Pacific, hunting out all types of species. In Season 24 ET will be focussing on Specific target species and he will be showing you the all-important tackle, tactics and techniques needed to catch them. About ET

ET is currently filming the 24th action-packed series of his highly successful fishing and adventure program “Escape Fishing with ET”. Series 24 is currently in Production and his action-packed program is telecast with great success on the Ten Network, 10Bold, Tenplay, Southern Cross, and WIN Television. Escape Fishing With ET is on air Nationally every week of 2023.

As the Executive Producer and host of the show, Andrew Ettingshausen – former rugby league legend “ET” – takes the viewers fishing in their own backyard and the pacific. He heads to some of the most exciting and exotic fishing destinations on the planet. Chasing monster Barramundi in the Top end to battling huge Black Marlin and Game-fish out at sea, the fishing is action-packed. From the Mountain Rivers to the sea, ET brings his adrenalin television show to hundreds of thousands of Aussies each week.

TELEVISION SHOWS
In 2009 & 2010 ET was the host of two new Discovery Channel shows “Sportstar Insider”. These one hour productions saw ET join elite athletes like Olympic Swimmers, World Champion Surfers, Free Divers, Para Gliders, Kayakers, Red Bull Pilots, and caught up with Rugby All Black captain Richie McCaw in New Zealand to glide the amazing Southern Alps. ET looked inside the minds of elite Sportstars to find out how they continue to perform consistently at the highest level.

ET’s “Ultimate Fish” documentary series has featured 4 x one hour documentaries airing on Discovery Channel Asia Pacific. Ratings were outstanding with “Ultimate Fish: Barramundi” rating as the highest Australian documentary in its genre on the Discovery Channel in 2010. Ultimate Fish Murray Cod, Snapper and PNG Bass have followed with great ratings and Astra award nominations. ET won best presenter for Ultimate Fish PNG Bass at the 2014 Asian Pacific Awards.

In 2015 ET hosted a 4 x 1 hour special for Discovery Channel, "Saltwater Heroes." ET discovered what it took to make it as a commercial fisherman in a country known for its tough land, rough sea and rugged people. He discovered the history of our nations maritime industry whilst experiencing first hand why people are willing to risk their lives on a daily basis.

ET’S latest three-part series for network TEN is “Seafood Escape”. It shows the action and adventure of sourcing sustainable seafood from the seas and bays of Australia. Seafood Escape gets down and dirty and wet showing where our seafood originally comes from, then follows it all the way to the plate of some of Australia's finest restaurants.

In 2019 ET ticked off a goal of competing in Network 10’s Television Series, Survivor. This was one of the toughest and enjoyable experiences of his career.

RUGBY LEAGUE CAREER
In 1983 at 17 years old, ET started playing First Grade Rugby League for the Cronulla Sharks. He played 328 first grade games (all with Cronulla) over an illustrious eighteen seasons

  • Played 2 Seasons for Leeds in England

  • Played 30 State of Origins for NSW

  • Played 29 test matches for Australia throughout his career

  • Dally M Centre of the year in 1994 and 1996

  • Retired from NRL at the end of the 2000 season

  • 2005: named one of the 25 greatest ever NSW players

  • Andrew amassed some 485 first-class matches overall and scored 257 first-class tries throughout his 20 NRL seasons

  • In 2008 Andrew was inducted into the NRL Hall of fame and was named in the 100 greatest players to ever play the game.
